Michael Jackson being sued

The writ follows the release of Thriller 25 last year to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the ground-breaking music video, it is alleged.
John Landis, who made his name directing The Blues Brothers and Animal House, is alleged to be claiming through legal papers that Jackson withheld profits from him and that he is guilty of “fraudulent, malicious and oppressive” conduct.
Legal documents were reportedly filed at Los Angeles Superior Court last Wednesday by lawyers for Landis’s company Levitsky Productions.
The alleged papers have since been reproduced on entertainment website The Wrap.

Landis’s lawyers reportedly accuse Jackson and the defunct production firm Optimum of failing to provide accounts for recent profits made from the marketing of Thriller and the accompanying “making of” documentary. Read the rest of this entry »
