A FAMILY are being bombarded with calls from fans of chart star Soulja Boy who think they are dialling a hotline to their idol.

Catriona Howard-Smith and husband Gerry Matley are receiving up to 40 calls a day from groupies of the R&B star.

They started after he released his hit single Kiss Me Thru The Phone.

Soul-ja Boy, 18, sings “I wanna get with you tonight” before reciting a phone number.

But when dialed in the North-West of England, it just happens to be the number of Catriona and Gerry in Oldham, Lancashire.

And they want the American star to end their nightmare by telling his fans to stop.

Catriona, 52, said: “At first I thought they were prank calls but then they became more frequent.

“It starts with a vengeance after 3pm when school finishes. Weekends are also pretty bad.

“They are quite nice young people but it’s just a nuisance. Someone phoned up at 7 o’clock this morning singing the song at me. They think I’m his mum or girlfriend.

“When I explain to the girls they are quite sympathetic but the boys are quite insistent I must know Soulja Boy.” Mum-of-two Catriona said the calls started when the single entered the charts four weeks ago.
The rapper – whose real name is DeAndre Ramone Way – topped the US charts for seven weeks with Crank That (Soulja Boy). His new album is out in August.
