Ne-Yo, who was reportedly helping Jackson pen songs for his next album, told us he learned of Jackson’s death during rehearsal for Sunday’s BET Awards. “A friend of mine gave me a call, told me about it, I thought he was joking so I hung up the phone. About ten minutes after that, CNN called me and asked me to say a few words about his passing and that was when I knew it was for real.”
